My Top 10 Horror Films of All Time

So, I've decided to start doing some Top Ten Lists now and then.

Let me be VERY clear about a few things:
1. I am NOT a journalist. I'm just entertaining myself, my friends and fans with these lists.
2. My lists reflect MY OPINIONS only. My opinion is by no means the end-all, be-all of anything whatsoever. So if you disagree with me....well, tough shit. I don't care.
3. You probably will disagree with me.

So, without further ado...

Top 10 Best/Scariest Horror Films of All Time
(These are in no particular order except for #1. #1 is sacred.)

***SPOILER ALERT***
(That goes for all of these films. Fair warning.)

10. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

I already know what you're thinking. "Halloween 4? Why, Roxy ? Why part 4, of all the Halloween films?"
Let's face it the original Halloween is amazing. Everybody knows that. Halloween started it all. Michael Myers is a trailblazer. He kicked off the late 70's/ early 80's slasher film craze. Without Michael, there would be no Jason and no Freddy. So tip your hats gentlemen, or hockey masks, respectively.

I chose Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers to put on my list of all time favorites for a very simple reason....Danielle Harris in the role of "Jamie Lloyd". You have to understand something very important which is, Danielle Harris and I are in the same age range. I wasn't even born when Halloween came out, but by the time this installment hit VHS, I was just old enough to have started becoming aware of the world around me. Gone was the innocent cocoon of youth and I was beginning to understand that there are very bad people in this world who are capable of atrocious things. Michael Myers was the symbol that embodied all of that frightening truth for me.

Michael was MY "boogeyman" and to see a film where a masked man was stalking a child whom he was hell-bent on slicing into little pieces was absolutely the most horrific thing I'd ever seen. A child, for fuck's sake. None of the other big names in horror had gone there. Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, even Norman Bates were always shown slaughtering adults and idiot teenagers. Not Michael. Nope. He didn't give a fuuuuck. He was going to gleefully rip out the entrails of an innocent little girl. That's scary.

#9 Signs

Okay, okay, okay. I realize that M. Night Shyamalan's Signs may not really qualify as a "horror" film to many of you, but this isn't your list, is it? It's mine, and I've included this film for the most important reason anyone could possibly include a film in their Top 10 Scariest movies.......it scared the FUCK out of me.

It is a little known fact amongst my friends and fans that I have a problem with aliens. Particularly aliens who park their ships over my planet with the intention of destroying it. This freaks me out to the nth degree. This film had me on the edge of my seat with my heart racing for 106 minutes. I'm sure many of you are either scratching your head or laughing your ass off at me, but don't fucking lie....you KNOW there are at least 3 moments in this movie that almost made you piss your pants:

1. When you see the alien on the home video of the birthday party.
2. When the alien is locked in the pantry and sticks it's hand underneath the door.
3. When they are trapped in the basement, the lights go out and then come back on to reveal the alien's claws groping at the kid through the furnace.

Don't lie. You jumped. We all did. Now take those moments of "gotcha!" terror and make them last for 106 minutes. I bawled my eyes out in fear for almost the entire duration of that film. I have a friend who thinks it's fucking hilarious to make mimic the odd alien language the kid picks up through the baby monitor. He does it because he knows it freaks me out and I WILL resort to violence to get him to stop. I am terrified of alien invasion. And Signs was a kick in the chest for someone like me.

I know you're probably thinking, "Well, if she's so scared of aliens, why didn't she include a kickass movie like, well, Aliens." Good question. But I've thought of that. I don't like aliens who come knocking on my front goddamn door. A lot of scary alien films (like Aliens) take place in space, and I have no plans to go into space any time soon. Problem solved.

#8 Resident Evil (part 1)

Nerdgasm. When I went into the theater to see 2002's Resident Evil, I had no idea what to expect. I had never played the games and knew virtually nothing about the film except that it starred that really beautiful L'Oreal model and that chick from The Fast and the Furious. I was surprised and delighted by what I saw.

Resident Evil proved that a film based on a video game could actually be great. The story is engrossing, the characters are interesting and likeable and the zombies are....well...disgusting.
Resident Evil wasn't the first console-to-big-screen film, and it certainly wasn't the first zombie film, but it gave both ideas a much needed kick in the face. A slew of copycat films and sequels followed, but none of them could seem to top the gem that was Milla Jovovich kicking ass in a designer gown and butt-shorts.

I chose Resident Evil for my list because not only did it open my eyes to a whole wide world that I was previously oblivious to, but it totally empowered women. The most badass soldier in the bunch is also a knockout beauty who has no problem kicking the shit out of some pretty savage beasts....human and inhuman alike.

#7 Jeepers Creepers

Everyone who's ever been on a road trip has joked about being caught by a psycho killer and never heard from again. Dozens of films have been made using that very plot. But I think Jeepers Creepers was the first film I ever saw where the psycho killer was actually a fucked-up looking slimy, bat-winged, cthulu-esque, creature-thing that liked to sniff underwear and wouldn't die no matter how many times you shot it OR ran over it with your car.

This movie scared the hell out of me for a couple of reasons:
1. Let's face it, nobody likes the idea of being stalked.
2. When I saw this, I was living on a farm in the middle of east-jesus nowhere. (Much like the film's setting.)
3. I think all of our hearts were in our throats during the scene where "The Creeper" is seen tossing a human body down a drain pipe. Nobody wants to witness that crime. I don't care if it's a creature committing it or the goddamn Prince of Wales. I'm outta there.

For me, and I think many of you will agree, the scariest parts of the film happen before "The Creeper" is actually revealed. Up to that point you think you're just dealing with a really scary, fucked up dude. (Not that that's fun, or makes it better.) But once you see that the killer is actually a monster of some sort, the movie shifts from terrifying to interesting.
I also like this movie because, in the end, the dumbass kid who just haaaaaad to go back and investigate ends up getting slaughtered. Which is exactly what he deserved. Never go back and look down the drain where the body was dumped. You just signed your own death certificate, buddy.

#6 The Silence of the Lambs

Alrighty. I've felt compelled to explain and defend all of my choices up to this point, but here stands The Silence of the Lambs. I have heard it said by some that this isn't really a "horror" movie. Some say it's more of a drama. Ok. I can totally see where those people are coming from.....sort of. Ish. Not really. Actually, shut the fuck up. This is a horror film.

Any movie where a serial killer is holding women captive so he can skin them and sew himself a "lady-suit" is horror. And let us not forget the lovely scene where Hannibal Lector disembowels a police officer, cuts off his face to wear over his own and then leaves the man's body strung up from the ceiling like some bloody disgusting Angel of Death. Yeah, that's called horror. And I love it.

The witty exchanges between Dr. Lector and Clarice Starling make this possibly the most well written horror film of all time. That's why I think people have a hard time calling it horror. They just can't wrap their minds around the fact that horror isn't always just hockey masks and kitchen knives. Horror is smart, it's interesting and it strikes a chord in all of us, whether we want to admit it or not. Maybe the chord it strikes is the primitive id, and that's why we'd rather sweep it under the rug. But nonetheless, thank you Dr. Lector. And thank you The Silence of the Lambs.

#5 Demon Knight (Presented by Tales From The Crypt)

Weren't expecting this, were ya? What can I say? I'm eccentric, eclectic and downright weird. Forget the fact that I have had a huge crush on Billy Zane since 1989's Dead Calm. This is a really good movie! Before this film Tales From the Crypt was mostly known as an HBO Original series of shorts films that usually included some sort of zany twist at the end. Who would have thought they could put together a well-written story that does more than just gross you out? It's actually scary, interesting, and even makes you laugh out loud at times.

I chose it mostly because of the incredible performances turned in by an ensemble cast lead by the vastly underrated Zane, the always great William Sadler and Thomas Haden Church and a young, gorgeous Jada Pinkett (who at the time was relatively unknown outside of a couple of 'hood movies.)

These actors and the rest of the cast are what make this film work. Demon Knight walks a very thin line between total cheesefest and ultra-cool horror flick. Any weak link in the cast could have easily sent the film over the line into Lameville. But these actors deliver every line with sincerity and commitment, which I appreciate as an actor.

#4 Dawn of the Dead (Zack Snyder's 2004 version)

As stated earlier in this list, I was never a big fan of zombie films until I saw 2002's Resident Evil, which opened my eyes to that world. Zack Snyder's 2004 version of the classic Romero film Dawn of the Dead came in on the tide of the reboot of the entire genre, which I feel is owed to Resident Evil. Nearly 10 years later, zombies are still alive and kickin' (so to speak) and raking in the cash at the box office and on TV. (Hello, The Walking Dead).

I chose Dawn of the Dead because unlike Resident Evil, this wasn't a bunch of gearheads and badass soldiers dealing with a virus that got out of control. This was real life. Dawn of the Dead is what was happening to the civilians outside of "The Hive". You wake up one morning and OH FUCK! Your boyfriend is trying to eat you, and not in that good way.

A rag-tag group of people are thrown together in an attempt to survive the unsurvive-able. One of the characters in the film reminds you of you, or someone you know. They each grow on you in ways you never expected. I found myself rooting for the pretty girl and the handsome nice guy to get together. The team screw up was good for some laughs. And he may only have a few lines of dialogue in the entire film, and they were spoken over a walkie-talkie, but I was devastated when the badass marksman across the street on the other roof top got killed. Even the total dick security guard proved himself to be a man of valor in the end.

Dawn of the Dead is great because these people feel real. We all like to think we know what we'd do in such circumstances, but we probably wouldn't live one day. Which is what makes it hit so hard when all of the characters in this film end up dead.

#3 Interview with the Vampire

Here we encounter another film that some people argue is more of a Drama than a Horror film. I know two things for certain:
1. The video store keeps it in the Horror section.
2. The dead body count is higher than Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th COMBINED.

I think that earns it a place in horror, don't you?
Interview with the Vampire changed my life. The novel was published in 1976 (before I was born. Hell, my parents hadn't even graduated High School yet) and it took nearly 20 years for the film to finally come out. I was a very young girl in 1994 when I walked into the theater with my mother so see what I thought was going to be a boring movie about a vampire with Tom Cruise and some guy named Brad or something.

I walked out...different. A vampire story told from the point of view of the Vampire! The hero was a vampire! The villain was a vampire! There was even a child vampire (major taboo when the story was written) and I could relate to her because I was a child too! And these weren't just any vampires! They didn't live in dark, scary castles and turn into bats. They were beautiful! They walked among us! Their gift was their curse and they didn't just "vant to suck your bloooood!" They wanted to dance, attend parties, dress in fine fashions....and THEN suck your blood. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before.

I went home and dug out every piece of black clothing I could find. I identified most with Brad Pitt's character Louis. He was sad and brooding. I made no secret of my newfound love of all things dark. I wore a Lestat t-shirt that read "Drink from Me and Live Forever". I did not anticipate the backlash. When you're in grade school, standing out does not go over well. Especially when you live in a small town in the country. I was teased relentlessly. Rumors were spread that I killed cats and drank their blood. I was dubbed "Vampire Girl", a nickname I would not escape until graduating high school.

And now....nearly 20 years later...being a grade-schooler in love with vampires is totally normal and trendy. Thanks Twilight. Fuck. It doesn't matter now. I am cooler now than any of my grade-school chums ever dreamed of. (The last laugh is always the best one.)

And I still have my original Interview with the Vampire poster framed above my bed.

#2 American Psycho

The first time I saw American Psycho I had a massive anxiety attack. I felt like there was a car parked on my chest and I couldn't breathe. It was terrifying. Pretty effective for a horror film, eh?

I've read that when The Exorcist was released in theaters more people fainted and/or left the theater during the spinal tap scene than any other moment in film history. I've had 4 spinal taps in real life. A walk in the park. So, you can imagine how many years it took before I gave American Psycho a second viewing.

For some reason the first time I saw it, every shred of humor and irony was completely lost on me. All I saw was a man going insane and committing one atrocity after another. After the scene with the homeless man in the alleyway, I couldn't watch anymore. I had to be sedated.

I don't think I need to explain further why American Psycho made my list. Having seen it a few times since, I get the humor now, but I still get a little nervous because I'll never forget the way I felt that very first time, which is when films are always at their most effective. The first time you see it, you have no idea what's going to happen. You can never get that magic back.

Which brings me to my #1 pick for Best Horror Film of All Time....

#1 Scream

When I decided to make this list there was absolutely no doubt, no question in my mind as to which film should receive the title Best Horror Film of All Time. Scream was my first and last choice. I realize many of you are probably gasping or slack-jawed.

"But Roxy, it's not one of the old-school original classics!"

Shut up. Just because something has been around for a long time doesn't automatically make it better. It just makes it older.
So now, I am going to plead my case for why I made Scream #1, and the great thing is...I am the judge, jury and executioner. This whole list is my opinion. You can love my list or hate my list. It doesn't matter. Because it's mine.

Let's face it, horror was going through a bit of a slump. The Golden Age of slasher flicks was over and all we had were bad sequels, bad ripoffs and just plain bad (I'm talking to you Leprechaun).

And then out comes Scream. A movie with the balls to kill off it's biggest movie star within the first 15 minutes. Whoa. I remember the first time I saw it. Everything I thought I knew went out the window in those 15 minutes. ANYTHING could happen and ANYONE was fair game.

What happened next was magical. A movie with a cast of young, mostly unknown actors turns the tables on itself and on the audience.

Was the premise super duper original? No. Jamie Kennedy even says in the film "There's always some stupid bullshit reason to kill your girlfriend."
Get teenagers all together in one place. Kill all teenagers. Simple enough, right?

What we weren't counting on was the sharp dialogue, the self-aware characters, the new red herrings every 5 minutes and the perfectly timed humor.

Scream pays tribute to every slasher movie that it has to thank for it's existence with references to Prom Night, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, and countless others. There are moments, as the film Halloween plays in the background that Scream doesn't even need a score because it simply borrows Halloween's. Savvy move!

And then we get The Rules. Jamie Kennedy as 'Randy', ever the voice of reason in the film, presents us with "Certain Rules One Must Abide By In Order to Survive a Horror Movie". He's talking to his party goers, but we all know he's really speaking to us, the audience. And it's a genius move in the script. No film had ever done that before.

And then the truth comes out. There's not one, but TWO killers. And they almost get away with it. They were very smart. "Watch a few movies, take a few notes." One of them kinda makes sense (the boyfriend) but even Neve Campbell's character 'Sidney' asks Matthew Lillard's 'Stu' "What's your motive?" He keeps the comedy coming even in these intense final moments when he answers, "Peer pressure."

As it should be, both killers end up dead by the hand of our heroine. D-E-A-D. Because this is real life. You don't get shot 6 (or 7) times and walk away.

In the end, I chose Scream because of what it gave not just to me, but to horror fans everywhere: Hope. Yes, it scared the crap out of me, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I was completely shocked by the "double-killers" twist ending.

But more than anything it did something that the world needed...it breathed new life into the slasher genre and changed the possibilities for future horror films.

It's been 15 years and while Scream has had varying success with it's sequels....I'm waiting again. Waiting for the new future of horror.

Hell. Maybe it's me. *wink*

There's quite a lot of photos in this set, and this is only half of what was shot. Stewarts Mansion is located in Galveston, Texas and many say it's haunted by the pirate's whose portraits adorn the walls in giant murals. Some even say there's buried treasure on the property.

All I know is...it's a beautifully wretched place that has been reclaimed by nature. There are walls missing and the roof has caved in many spots. It was a little scary and a little dangerous shooting there. I hope you love the results!

Hello My Darlings! I have so many exciting and awesome things to share with you all, I almost don't even know where to begin!

I suppose I'll get the serious stuff out of the way first. If you're a friend of fan of mine, you probably know that I was stricken with a deadly illness this spring and I have spent the entire summer in recovery. It's a very long story, but let's just say I nearly lost my life and it's been an uphill battle getting back on track. One of the people closest to me, photographer Tony Rodriguez has been so sweet and has taken the liberty of setting up a fundraiser for me so that I can raise a little money for medical expenses and bills.

This money is not for buying cute shoes or getting tattoos (which we all know are my fave things in the world to do!) This money is to help me get back on my feet until I am fully recovered enough to work regularly.

I want to thank everyone who has been so kind as to donate so far. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL and EVERY CENT is needed and appreciated. I am grateful for every $10 or $15 here and there because it really does add up. If you'd like to help out you can do so by clicking here.

Hello Angels!

I hope you are are doing splendidly. I'm fully psyched to bring you brand-spanking-new photos from my first EVER beach shoot! I know what you're thinking, "Roxy you've been modeling for years, how have you never modeled on the beach?" Well, for starters...I'm highly allergic to a few things...fabric softener, morphine, ibuprofin, the sun, and anything before 5 p.m.

Most photographers want to hit the beach at like, 8 in the morning and to that I say, "Nay." Actually what I really say is, "Fuck all that noise! I go to bed at 6 a.m.!"

Luckily, Tony Rodriguez is a night owl like me, so we got these awesome shots just as the sun was setting over the coast. I just love that time of day when the whole world turns blue! I hope you enjoy them and I *really* hope you purchase a few as autographed prints!!!

Hello Fox Lovers! (I'm your little Fetish Fox)

I am so happy to launch the new look here at RoxyVandiver.com! I hope you like it as much as I do! I worked very hard on it. As many of you know, aside from being an actress, model, muse, costume designer, photographer and entrepeneur, I am also a graphic designer. I've still got some tweaks, but this is just the beginning of the summer/fall look for the site.

It was a wild spring and now it's a hot summer. I hope everyone had a safe and fun Independence Day! I took the day to rest because I've been super busy working on my art. Unfortunately, we weren't able to pop fireworks in Houston this year because of the severe drought we've been having.

For those that don't live here, let me tell you...this summer has been a killer and it's barely July. We've had temperatures well over 100 degrees for weeks on end and our rainfall levels are frighteningly below average. Some parts of Texas are experiencing terrible wildfires. So please, do a little raindance and send some love our way!

1. Who is the coolest celebrity that you have either worked with, or met. And who is the biggest douchebag?

That's a difficult one to answer! I've had the opportunity to meet some very cool celebs and even hang out with them. Probably the coolest experience was becoming buddies with Boondock Saints star Norman Reedus. I was hanging out in the back of a friend's hearse when Reedus crawled in and kissed me on the cheek! We ended up drinking and chatting all night. The following day, he introduced me to his Boondock Saints co-star Sean Patrick Flanery. We partied the night away and Flanery snatched my camera and snapped some sexy photos of me and my gal pal Kristen Diaz. A memorable night for sure! The biggest douchebag I ever met? Dave Chappelle. I bumped into him sitting on a bench outside of the Galleria in Houston. There was no one around. Just me and a girlfriend. I asked if he'd be in a photo with me and he said no. I was pissed because, it wasn't like I had interrupted the guy's dinner or something. He was sitting alone on a bench doing nothing. I hate when celebrities forget that fans are the reason they are rich and famous at all. I always take the time to pose with or sign photos for my fans.

2. Which body part of yours gets the most attention?

Believe it or not, more people compliment me on my hair than anything. I'm always being asked who did my hair, or how I did my hair, or how long it took. I often get asked if my hair is even real!

3. What's your favorite scar? You know, one you're really proud of.

I LOVE this question. My favorite scar would have to be the matching red dot-like scars I have on each bicep. I have them because I recently survived Spinal Meningoencephalitis. (Google it if you want to know what the hell that is.) I had to have a special I.V. in each arm. A Picc Line. A tube that goes inside your arms and reaches 18 centimeters directly towards your heart. These scars remind my how tough I am and that I'm a survivor.

4. How does it make you feel knowing that you touch people in ways that they have never been touched before and we love you and are addicted to Roxy Vandiver!!!

It makes me feel flattered and grateful for each and every person whose life has been enriched by my art. My life is surreal at times. I have die-hard fans from all over the world. I've sent autographs to people on almost every continent, yet I'm totally anonymous at the neighborhood grocery store. It's bizarre in a way. I LOVE that people love me. I'm just a small town girl, but I've got BIG dreams.

5. You once commented [on Facebook] that you wanted to start a band. Who is your greatest musical influence and biggest inspiration?

My greatest musical influence is definitely Madonna. I love my crazy rock music and I've seen some incredible live shows by Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and tons more, but when I saw Madonna on her Sticky & Sweet tour, I bawled my eyes out when she first came onstage. It was like looking at a goddess. I have old video tapes of me dancing around my parent's kitchen in a leotard to "Open Your Heart". I used to take down my mother's lace curtains and try to fashion them into a flamenco dancer dress like Madonna in the "La Isla Bonita" video. Madonna has been the Queen of her craft for over 25 years and I grew up wanting to BE her. She's like the female Elvis.

6. What's the craziest thing a fan has done that did not creep you out? Does anyone have a Roxy tattoo?

Crazy, but not creepy? Hmmm. That's hard. The crazy ones are usually creepy, so it's difficult to separate the two. I have one fan who bought a pair of panties that I wore in a film. I didn't find it creepy though. Hell, I'll sell all of my panties if the price is right! I think my tattoo artist Patrick has plans on using my image as a zombie pinup tattoo. He's mentioned it a few times, but as far as I know, no one has any Me-related tattoos...YET. Be pretty cool if someone did!

7. Marilyn Monroe, Vampire Roxy, or Tinkerbell. Which (of your ComicPalooza character's) can handle Ash's boomstick the best and why?

Haha! Well, in all seriousness, I think Vampire Roxy could definitely handle Ash's boomstick. She could use glamour to coerce Ash into using his boomstick however she pleases.

8. What hobby or obsession do you have that people raise an eyebrow at but still think is pretty cool?

Tattoos. I'm admittedly addicted to getting tattoos. I have 19 tattoos. (I think) They're cool because they represent freedom of expression, and let's face it, I have really great tattoos. But some people think my tattoos are a problem where my acting is concerned. My agent hates them! But I don't let it worry me. I work regularly and it's really not that difficult to cover them with the right makeup. Angelina Jolie does it. Some people think I'm nuts for having so many tattoos. Maybe I am...

9. Do you enjoy being where you are right now in life and being in the spotlight?

I do enjoy it! I get to meet really cool people and I get the VIP treatment in a lot of places, but it has it's downsides. Once a lot of people know who you are, you become a target. Some people are cruel to me for no reason and I hate that. People forget that you're more than a photo on the internet or a character on a screen. I'm a person. Just like everyone else. I bleed when I get cut, I cry when I have a bad day, I care what people say about me. There is a video of me on YouTube posing for a photo session. Someone left a comment on it that said there was "No difference between me and an animal". I don't know what they were trying to say, but it doesn't seem good.

10. You're hanging out with me. You have a hammer, midget and roulette wheel. How do we spend our night on the town?

First we ask the midget to dress up as a leprechaun because it's funny. Then we set up our roulette wheel at a bar and start taking people's money. We use the hammer to put nails on the wall so we can hang up all the really great artwork we've purchased with our roulette money! And also, we're shitfaced drunk. You're dressed as Elvis and I'm dressed like Marilyn Monroe. We'd be unstoppable!

11. (IF) A movie is being made on the life of Gwen Stefani or Courtney Love and you were asked to audition for the lead role on the same day. Which one would you choose and why?

I would choose to play Courtney Love. I love Gwen, but Courtney's life story is much more interesting and gritty. I would love to go through that character arch. Starting out playing dive clubs with my band, then marrying a man who becomes a huge rockstar. Being a junkie with him. Dealing with his suicide and then blossoming into a respected musician and acclaimed film actress only to lose it all to drugs all over again. Can you imagine the intensity that would come with playing a role like that? I would love the challenge!

12. Does signing autographs still make you smile like it did the first time?

I swear it never gets old. Every single time someone wants an autograph or photo with me, I am totally thrilled and grateful that there are people who want my autograph at all!

13. As an actress, do you like playing archetype/over-the-top roles or natural/realistic roles?

I honestly don't mind being type-cast as the badass girl or the sex kitten and playing it up. I'm just thankful to work as an actress at all. I do however, wish to explore all types of characters. I have been fortunate in that I've played some very different characters. I've played a wicked sex siren, an abusive alcoholic mother, a strong silent survivor, a sweet teenager, a deadly ghost zombie and a junkie whore. Right now I'm very excited to be working on a film called The Good Friend (which everyone should go "Like" on Facebook) where I get to play sexy, but also a vulnerable young woman, a supportive best friend and a cool college student all at the same time! My character, Megan, is multi-faceted and there's more to her than meets the eye.

14. If you could paint a house any colors inside and out, what would they be?

Oooh! I always wanted to live in a big white house with a red front door. And the inside walls would all be colored to suite the mood of the room. I'd have a pink boudoir, a slate grey living room with tons of photos on the wall, all in thick white frames. Red furniture. In the dining room, instead of paint, I'd have the walls lined with red velvet that is embossed with beautiful abstract designs. Ornate black candlebras on the walls.

15. If you could choose a personal hero, who would it be and why?

I know it's cliche, but my heroes are my parents. They overcame so much to insure that I had a wonderful, happy childhood. I always knew I was loved and supported. It's not every parent's dream to see their little girl grow up to be naked on the internet, but my parents are proud of my accomplishments and I know they just want me to be happy.

16. If you have to do a sex scene in a movie would you rather it be with a male or female, or no difference at all?

Honestly, I'm more comfortable doing sex scenes with guys. My sexuality is complex and personal, but I will say that men are my preference.

17. If you could play ANY role in ANY movie, what would it be? (past, present, future, time travel to play in the original version or in a remake. doesnt matter)

This is a fun question! I would love to have played Milla Jovovich's character Alice in the Resident Evil films. My second choice would be to play Famke Janssen's role Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-Men series. Both women were phenomenal in the roles, but I would love to play such a badass character in a hit franchise.

18. Are you ready to play a non- sexy role? You seem to be always cast as the sexy chick.( at least what I've seen) Are you ready to play a less glamorous role?

I'll refer back to question # 13. I've done some pretty unglamorous roles. If fact, I would venture to say that most of my roles haven't been super sexy. Having said that, I think I get what you mean on some level. I know I've gotten some roles because of my willingness to do nudity. I would love to play a romantic leading lady in a silly/sweet comedy. That would be a whole new world to me!

19. What does one mean when they say, "You're going to hell in a handbasket, son!" ?

Well, sometimes when someone is acting like a total assclown and doing some wrong-ass shit, you gotta call 'em out. I don't even believe in Hell, but it just seemed appropriate at the time. (For those who are totally lost, the questioner here, Heather is an old friend who once witnessed me yelling that phrase at someone.)

20. If you had to choose between Marylin Monroe and Elvira who would you rather have sex with?

Heaven's Door.

Oh. My. GAWD. Hello my Darlings! I've missed you! The past month has been one hell of a ride. There have been highs and lows. I won't lie...mostly lows. As most of you know, I had a near death experience when I spend 21 days as a patient suffering from Spinal Meningoencephalitis. (Look it up.) I've written all about the experience in my Facebook notes if you want details, but I'm not going into it here. Afterall, my site is for fun, sexy stuff and the important thing is, I'm getting stronger and healthier every week. My deepest love and thanks go out to all of my friends and fans who have stuck by me, written me the sweetest letters and messages, sent gifts and been supportive every step of the way. I am so lucky to have such wonderful people surrounding me, even if I haven't met you all in real life. You are still very important to me and I couldn't have gotten through without you. Now, hopefully I can repay you a little by sharing my newest set of photos! These were taken by L.J. just before I got sick and we didn't think it was right to release them until I was well and ready. So please, enjoy. L.J. and I work very unconventionally. We care more about raw emotion and blurring the lines of traditional glamour photography than we do about getting every shot to be magazine glossy. It's about experimenting. It's about grit. This is me with Christine. Yes, THAT Christine. As in The actual screen-used Plymouth Fury used in John Carpenter's film Christine. As in based on the novel by Stephen King.

Painful. That is the best word I can think of to describe the past two months.

"I've been cheated. Covered in diamonds and covered in filth.But I'm still breathing. Yes, I've crawled on glass to grasp at straws...stuttering, staggering through. But I've pierced the last hole in my arm, to gouge out the pieces of you."

I'm on the long hard road out of hell right now. I still can't see the any light in this darkness, but I'm going to keep clawing my way upward. If I slide back down to the bottom, I'll get right up and try again. I've hurt and lost some people who are very important to me. But then, they've hurt me as well.

So I called this post "Candle in the Wind" because though she was a beautiful, talented genius...I don't want to end up like Norma Jean....or Marilyn Monroe as we know her. They made me change my name too.

I do interviews all the time. For websites and magazines and podcasts and shows. I recently asked my Facebook friends, fans and family to send me some questions of their own. I wanted to know what YOU ALL wanted to know. So here are my honest answers to the questions sent to me:

Question: "Why are you turned on by blood..gore, darkness ect?"

Answer: I think blood is beautiful. The color, the way it moves. If you've ever seen a large amount of blood exit your body (which I have), it's frightening and yet fascinating. Perhaps I feel this way because I've had a very strong interest in Vampires since I was a young girl. My love of all things dark and macabre is probably related to this. I do have to say though, I am NOT turned on by gore. I love a gorey horror movie, but I wouldn't say it turns me on.

Question: "Will you still be acting in movies at age 53? When u arrive in Hollywood will you fly me out there to serve you drinks & light your cigarettes? Will you ever go into "main stream" movies? And lastly--Do you wear t-backs or boxers or other?"

Answer: I hope to continue acting for the rest of my life and my ultimate goal is to make my living solely from this profession. You can serve me drinks anytime, Dave. But I like lighting my own smokes. I'd love to go into mainstream movies. Like I said, that's the dream. Oh, and I don't wear underwear.

Question: "From the various guises of "Roxy" that we have seen be it femme fatale, seductress, ingenue, fairy or vamp are any of these the real Roxy or are they individual pieces of the whole? Possibly the real you is something else entirely?"

Answer: I love this question. And the answer is yes, they are all part of what makes up the person that I am. As humans, we are all multi-faceted. Some days I look in the mirror and think "Damn, I look good" and I strut my stuff. Other days I don't want to get out of bed. I've often been called a chameleon. My personality changes as my look changes. I am a femme fatale, I'm also a fairy. I'm woman who loves to seduce, and I'm a little girl who is uncertain and terrified. But some things never change: I am always honest and caring. I'll give you shirt off my back in a heartbeat.

Question: "Vag or Anal?"

Question: "If a movie was made about your life... whom would be your first choice to play the role of roxy vandiver, and what song would play during the closing credits?"

Answer: Well, assuming I'm not allowed to play myself, I think I'd choose Natalie Portman. I respect her so much as an actress. For the closing credits? Well, I'd either choose "The Fragile" by Nine Inch Nails or I'd have you write and record a song just for me!!!

Question: "The End of Days: You stand before a mirror and look back over your life. IF you could change ONE thing... And knowing had you changed it, the rest of your life would be affected in good ways and bad, happy or sad. Would you change it?"

Answer: This is probably not the answer anyone would expect, but if I could change one thing, I would have taken better care of myself physically. No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes, and better food. I swear I'm too young to feel this old. And those things probably have a lot to do with it. (I know, that answer is totally boring...but it's true.)

Question: "Do you miss me as much as I miss you?"

Question: "Would you ever allow someone to use you as their muse? Their creative spark? Think of you or their idea of you and use that as a creative engine to write, paint, whatever. Not neccessarily things about you either. "

Answer: I have been in an Artist/Muse relationship before. I don't think we realized it at the time, but that's exactly what it was. People often write me and tell me that I've inspired them creatively. I find it extremely flattering and I would love to continue to spark people to make art of any kind!

Question: "If you had the power to require every high school student to read one particular book before they could graduate, what would it be and why?"

Answer: Fucking love this question. I think my choice would be William Golding's Lord of the Flies. I'm a reader, and I devour books like candy, but there are so many lessons in Lord of the Flies about life, society, and relationships. Lessons about being an individual, succumbing to a mob mentality and living with the aftermath of your actions. It may be a small book and only a junior high reading level, but at the end, when the main character is standing on that torched beach, it's as though you're standing there with him thinking, "How did it ever come to this?" It moved me.

Question: "Did you always want to be a model/actress/queen of all that is sexiness or was there something else you wanted to be when you were younger?"

Answer: Hehehe. I trained to be a competitive level gymnast for 10 years, but an injury ended my Olympic dreams. I always knew I wanted to be loved by the masses. I always knew I wanted to do something artistic, but I never would have dreamed that I'd end up working as a professional model or actress. I wanted to be a vampire. :)

Question: "If you were to ever meet yourself in a bar what would you think?"

Question: "Do you bring out different personas when you do your photoshoots? And if so, which is your favorite?"

Answer: Absolutely yes. Modeling is not all that different from acting. Films are, afterall, just moving pictures. I like the Sex Siren, but I'll admit I do get bored with sticking out my tits and ass all the time. The photoshoots I like best are the ones that tell a story. I'd rather be the haunted, broken doll than the siren any day.

Question: "Favorite latenight snack?"

Answer: Vicodin. Naw, I'm kidding. (Mostly). I REALLY love to snack on fresh organic veggies and cheese cubes. Doritos are always good too. (I want some now).

Question: "What do you think is the most difficult thing about being a public figure?"

Answer: Probably the most difficult thing about being a public figure is that people forget one very important thing about you: You're a REAL PERSON. My Block List on Facebook is a mile long because I have to deal not just with pervy creeps, but also assholes who think they can just say whatever they want to me whenever they want. As though I have no feelings and insults don't hurt me. News Flash! I do have feelings and I do get hurt. I also have to be very careful when expressing personal opinions because people are very quick start internet wars with me.

Question: "You seem to live life portraying yourself as a vibrant, unique, colorful (keep the adjectives going) work of art. What is your greatest inspiration or reason for this?"

Answer: I don't "portray myself" as vibrant, unique and colorful. I just AM those things and so much more. We all are. Do I want to entertain, amuse and inspire people? Of course! Do I want people to adore me and think I'm beautiful? Absolutely! The inspiration for this is the human need for approval that we all have inside. Everyone cares what people think on some level. (No matter what they say.) My inspiration for being a sensation is the love I get in return for enriching peoples' lives through my art.

Question: "If you could direct a photo shoot and the person you chose had to do anything you wanted, who would it be and all tha jazz?"

I'm a sweetheart. But I have fangs. I'm also (SPOILER ALERT!) a real human being. I'm not just a pretty face you see in pictures and films. I pay my taxes and go to the grocery store. I cry at sappy movies and some days I'm too tired to get out of bed.

I recently had an "incident" with a stalker-type who was so desperate to get in touch with me that he created a fake Facebook account, impersonating one of my friends to get to me. Luckily, he has been dealt with, but it has forced me to be a little more guarded and aware of what people say to and about me.

Bottom line: I do not, will not ever go on a date with someone I met on the internet. I will not give you my phone number. If you want to send me a present or something, I'll give you an address, but I'm not stupid enough to give out MY address. I've got a loaded shotgun and a 9mm next to my bed and I'm an incredible shot. My friends at the range call me RobinHood.

I hated doing that, but it was necessary. And now that it's out of the way...let's talk about fun stuff.

Oh The Horror!

If you're reading this, you've heard of me. Hell, you've probably met me. You may actually be a very close friend. You might be a stranger. Well all start out as strangers though, don't we?

I write to you tonight while walking a metaphorical tightrope. So many things I want to say. So much truth I want to reveal, not just about myself but also about the people around me.

In case you're wondering, I'm wearing a long, yellow cotton dress, my face is fully made up, my hair shiny and straight and a Marlboro sits perched between my fingers as I type. The movie Constantine plays in the background.

I take a sip of A&W Root Beer, trying to figure out how to begin. Trying to pinpoint the start. How the hell did I get here?

I sit on the precipice of all my hopes and dreams. I can smell the blood of the animal I've been hunting and it's intoxication.

Speaking of intoxication. 3 days have passed since I last poisoned my blood. I want only two things at the moment: Sleep and more poison. But I can't have either. Too much to get done. Too many tasks on the checklist.

If you were at the Spirit Camp screening at the Alamo Drafthouse on October 15 you may have heard some things, you may have seen some things. You want the truth? I'm pissed off and everyone who know the truth knows that I have every right to scream peoples' names and demand apologies for certain injustices that have been thrust upon me.

But don't pity me. I have secrets. I get revenge in the smallest, but sweetest of ways. Everyone who makes the mistake of fucking with me ends up regretting it. I always get what I want. One way or the other.

I exist as no woman has ever existed before me and I exist as no woman will ever exist after.

Hello My Angels!

I hope everyone is geared up to have a wonderful weekend! I know I am! Tomorrow I leave town and head back to the set of Wayne Slaten's Forever & After to do some pickup shots. I'm pretty excited about this because I had such a wonderful time working with everyone the first go-round, it will be cool to have a mini-reunion!

I'm starting so many great projects in the next several months, I wish I could just hit the fast forward button and get started on all of them. There's one film in particular that I'm stoked about because I get to speak with an accent! That's all I'll say right now!

My life is getting more complicated as my little star begins to shine brighter and brighter, but I'm slowly learning to navigate these uncharted waters. Hello My Cupcakes!

Life has been a whirlwind of events over the past several weeks. I don't even know where to start...

Well, I suppose things started to get out of control when I was laid off from my job at a certain local Roc-n-Roll Club. I went through the 5 stages of grieving, acted out a little bit and now I'm having the last laugh every time I cash the fat unemployment checks they're paying me.

I continue to smile because the scripts have been rolling in and I'll be starring in 4 feature films over the next year! I also had the wonderful opportunity to work with Backroad Director Wayne Slaten on the short film Forever & After. I can't reveal too much except to say that I was delighted to work with longtime pal Donny Boaz, I earned mad respect for any actor who ever has to undergo extreme makeup and prosthesis, and I'm a little bit angelic and a little bit devilish!

Tonight marks the end of Splatterfest Houston 2010! I was lucky enough to be invited out to Joe Grisaffi and Michael Colburn's set where I got to lend a hand behind the scenes and then join in on the fun in front of the camera! Go Sharks!

I had a birthday this month which was celebrated with an epic party at Dirt Bar and a night of bowling with my nearest and dearest. I got more birthday wishes and love than I ever could have asked for and I really want to thank you all for that! Especially The Herz for mentioning my birthday on The Gash!

It wasn't all fun and games though. Some of you may be aware of the controversy that arose between myself and some other people involved in TX Film. (Surprise, surprise) I would like to report however, that apologies have been made and we have all put it behind us. Oh, except for one person who will never grow up, never get the fucking chip off his shoulder, and will continue whining like a bitch as everyone he knows learns the truth about him and comes over to the light side. And no, the person I'm referring to does not have a name that starts with a J.

That's all I have to say about that.

Well Hello My Loves!

Been a while since I've posted, but you must forgive me as I have been a very busy bee!

If you've looked at my IMDB page recently, you may have noticed a couple of new things! For example, a short Biography of me has popped up and you'll also notice a new movie role! That's right awesome Director and dear friend of mine, Stacy Davidson gave me a cameo in his killer, badass horror flick Sweatshop! It's an honor to be a part of a film I love so much that was made by and stars some of my favorite people on this planet!

Also, Stacy Davidson has a amazing new project in the works called Vision. You can learn more about the film and even donate to the making of it by visiting IndieGoGo. Every dollar counts! SUPPORT INDIE FILM!!!

More fun things are happening in RoxyLand! I recently wrapped a part in Joe Grisaffi's film Lars The Emo Kid. It was a very cool experience finally getting to work with Joe, whom I absolutely adore and practically owe my entire acting career to!

I've also been cast in the Poison Apple Production Project Pangea: Dinosaurs Unleashed! Brought to you by the makers of Renfield: The Undead, the vampire film I was thrilled to be a part of this past spring. I'll be playing a sexy Wiccan Priestess in this creature feature and I can't wait for filming to start!

It doesn't end there. I'm also in talks with Backroad director, Wayne Slaten to play a sexy Russian spy in his next project, and there's another role I've been cast in that's super duper secret right now!

Now for some fun peeeektures! I was fortunate enough to star in a music video for the band Harem Festival and I got to wear some gorgeous costumes and out-of-this-world makeup courtesy of the video's co-director Miss Ash Kay. (You know her as the star of Sweatshop!)
Stacy Davidson also directed and shot the video and he's editing it right now. I'll be posting it here as soon as it's done!

Last but not least, I want to share a recent interview I did for a Horror Blog all the way across the pond in Spain! Check it out here. Thing is, the Valhalla Gate site is all in Spanish! So, please do check out the page because it looks really cool and there are some great pics. But....luckily, I saved the English version to post here for those that don't know Espanol!

- What was your first experience as an actress?

My first experience as an actor was Junior High Theatre. We had a great theatre department and I did plays such as "Bye Bye Birdie", "The Wizard of Oz", "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" and the fun one act play "This is a Test." I also participated in and won several trophies at theatre tournaments at schools all around Houston.

I Know you thanks to Witchcraft 13 ( 2008 ) what can you tell us about this film?

WC13 was my first film. I had never been on camera before and knew little to nothing about the process of film-making. By the time we wrapped, I had learned so much and decided that acting was something I was deeply passionate about.

How did you prepare for the role for Keely.

Keely, my character in WC13 is a sexy little vixen Witch, who is totally evil and hellbent on taking over the world. I prepared for the role by watching all of the 12 previous installments in the Witchcraft series. I didn't learn much from those films. They're pretty cheesy. I just made Keely my own and followed the direction of Mel House.

What about the sex scene? almost kill yourself on the stairs, right?

I got pretty bruised up during that sex scene (which is pretty graphic). We were rolling around on a hardwood floor for take after take. It was my first time doing a sex scene or even appearing topless on camera, but I really wasn't nervous. It was fun and the whole cast and crew had a lot of laughs.

Some curious anecdote in this film?

One crazy thing that happened on the set of WC13 was when we filmed in the deep woods of Central Texas and we all got attacked by Chiggers. Chiggers are little insects that burrow into your skin and make you itch really bad. One chigger burrowed into a tattoo on my back and sucked the ink out. I still have the scar.

You are actress, model, you like best?

Acting is my first love. Modeling just sort of happened to me. I didn't really pursue it. It fell into my lap when Spirit Camp Director Kerry Beyer started photographing me regularly. He taught me about my angles and how to move my body for the camera. I owe my modeling career to him.

In 2009 you working in Spirit Camp, Some curious anecdote in this film?

We worked on Spirit Camp for over a year, so there are a million funny stories I could tell. Here's one of my favorites, though. The actor who plays the killer in the film has a condition called Hyperhydrosis. That means he sweats A LOT.

He and I spent a lot of time rolling around on the ground together with me lying beneath him, and often times, streams of his sweat would pour out of the mask's airholes directly, into my face, eyes and even my mouth. It was not fun. To this day, if anyone gets their sweat on me for any reason...I immediately think of him.

In 2010 you working in Killer School Girls from Outer Space, what can you tell us about this film and your role. Some curious anecdote in this film?

My role is KSG was very small, but quite fun. It was my first time working with an Austin based crew and they were great. I got to play against type for the first time. Instead of playing a sexy vixen, or a goth girl I got to play a sweet, innocent teenager who's boyfriend is trying to talk her into a romantic rendezvous in the woods.

This year ( 2010 ) you working in Renfield the Undead, what can you tell us about this film.

Working on Renfield was a dream come true. It was my first time working on a film with such an amazing makeup and costuming department. I got to play a Vampire onscreen which I always wanted to do and I got to wear a beautiful handmade gown, vampire teeth and eyes. It was really cool.

It was also fun because I got to get hot and heavy with the delicious Tyler Tackett, one of Texas's fastest rising stars.

What are your favorite genres to act in and to see.

I don't know that I have a favorite genre. I am interested in working on all types of films. Horror will always have my heart, but I'd love the opportunity to play comedy. They say comedy is the most difficult.

What was the last movie you´ve seen ?

The last movie I saw for the first time was Texas director Stacy Davidson's Sweatshop. I was totally blown away by it. It was so well done on every level and it really made me squirm in my seat - as any good horror flick should do.

What project are you currently working on at the moment?

I'm starring in a film called Crumble. In it I play a heroin addict who's life is spiraling out of control. It's very dark and disturbing in some places and I feel it's some of the best acting of my career.

Who would you like to work with in the future (actors, directors...)

My list of people I'd like to work with is currently topped by Stacy Davidson. He's a friend of mine and we are currently looking for an excuse to work together on something because we know we'd rock it out!

Now, if we're talking fantastical dreams of people I'd like to work with...definitely Martin Scorsese, Sam Mendes, Peter Jackson, and I'd love to do a Frank Miller adaptation. I would officially like to make it known to Robert Rodriguez that I am available for Sin City 2! hehehehe.

What do you think about Spanish films?

I'll answer your question with a question. Do you mean Spanish-Language films, or films made in Spain?

I'm not sure that I've ever seen any films made in Spain though I do enjoy the work of Spanish actors Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz. I've also read a lot about Pedro Almodovar and understand that he is an incredible film-maker. As for Spanish Language films, Pan's Labyrinth definitely comes to mind as a favorite. But then, I love everything Guillermo Del Torro does. The man's a genius.

Which person or people caused more impact on you throughout your career, as a person and as a professional ?

Throughout my career I have been lucky to be surrounded by supportive and helpful people. Two that stand out would definitely be Spirit Camp director Kerry Beyer, who served as a sort of Mentor to me for some time. I know if I have any questions about the biz, I can call him up and get advice. Also, Texas Actress Julin Jean. She's a dear friend of mine and she has a lot of experience. She has been incredibly helpful to me.

A dream?

My dream? I imagine my dream is much the same as any actor trying to make it in this business. I want to make great films with great people. I want my passion to be my living. I want to be successful!

Hello my sweet darlings!!!

It's been a while since we've embraced. I've missed you. Have you missed me? I don't mean to neglect you, I've just been super busy working on tons of radical things. Some of those things are Top Secret as of now, but I promise when you see them, you'll be blown away!

I'm feeling under the weather tonight. I think it's just a nasty summer cold. I'm just relaxing and hoping I'm well sooner rather than later.

I've made some new friends recently and I gotta say, I don't know how I ever got by without them!!! I'm connecting with and working with, (and planning to work with) some of the coolest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

It's not all fun and games though. It has recently been brought to my attention that a former friend and colleague is spewing hateful rumors about me. I think it's just sad. I have repeatedly reached out to this person in very kind ways to try and rebuild a bridge between us that got torched years ago. I don't understand people that hold onto anger and grudges. That stuff just brings you down. So, I take the high road and just remind everyone that you can't always believe what you hear. And I truly appreciate everyone who has come out in support by getting to know me and finding out for themselves what I'm really about.

And right now, I'm about very high concept, sexy pics! This shoot was very experimental both for myself and the photographer, Lucifer Jones. I hope you what we came up with!

Let it first be known - I do not make a profit off of selling autographed prints. I do it because I love and appreciate my fans.

Does that mean the prints are free? Not exactly.

I ask only that the costs of printing, packing and shipping be covered.

What does that mean for you? That means that U.S. residents in the consecutive 48 states must send $20 to my PayPal account in order to receive a personalized, high-quality glossy print autographed by me and sent flat shipped, not bent or folded via Federal Express.

Most of the time, I can print any photo of your choosing that you find on my Webpage, Model Mayhem or Facebook accounts. It's storming outside right now. It really makes me want to crawl back in bed. But I've got a stack of Netflix that's totally taunting me right now.

I don't even know where to begin. So much has been going on in RoxyLand. I guess the first order or business is to announce that after 6 years of being self-represented in the film industry I finally decided to get an agent. I love acting and I want to do it more often. Alas, I am now represented by Pastorini-Bosby Talent. Hooray!

In other Texas Movie news...I recently attended Texas Frightmare Weekend in Dallas to promote Spirit Camp! It was a total blasty. I met tons of cool new people, bonded with some people I'd already known and got to sign autographs for the sweetest most dedicated fans a girl could wish for!

Oh, did I mention I also got to rub elbows with some really cool horror icons and movie stars?

I have so much to look forward to in the coming weeks and so much to be thankful for. I've recently made some new friends in the TX Film Community. (You know who you are *wink*) And I'm so grateful to them for opening their hearts and minds, and letting me show them that there's more to the "Roxy Vandiver" persona than meets the eye. Inside there's a caring, sweet, often insecure, often misunderstood girl who sometimes gets carried away by the whirlwind around her. But when her feet touch the ground, she is honest to a fault, trustworthy and fiercely loyal.

Le sigh. Enough talk. I'm getting all Emo. Let's get to the fun stuff! PICTURES! Okay, now that you've gotten your fix, we can talk about some other cool things. Speaking of fixes. I started a new film this week. It's titled Crumble. It's directed by Mek and stars myself and Nahor Soloman, an up-and-comer in the Texas acting family. In Crumble I play Jezebel, a formerly beautiful junkie who has a life-altering problem on her hands. It's a dark and gritty role which I jumped at the chance to play. In other fun and PAINFUL news. I got a new tattoo last weekend! I've always been a huge fan of the film The Crow. It has a very special place in my heart and my love for it is too deep and personal to share here, but I can most definitely share the photos! My neck is tiny, so it wraps around a bit. The work was done by Patrick at Bombshell Studio (ranked Houston's best Tattoo shop year after year.)

There are a couple of other things I need to share with you before I starve to death. (I've been at the computer for HOURS editing and uploading photos for myself and others.) First! TEXAS MUTHERFUCKEN FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND!

It's this Friday through Sunday in Dallas, Texas. I will be there, as will movie stars and film makers not just from texas, but from all over the country! So, if you're gonna be in Dallas this weekend make sure and stop by the Spirit Camp booth to buy a copy of the film and grab a free autographed print from yours truly!

Falling In Love.

It's what I do. Every time I am on a film set. I walk in and it only takes about 20 minutes before I am head-over-heels in love with everyone on set.

Working on Renfield: The Undead this week was no exception. I spent only 2 days in the presence of this wonderful group of actors and crew members, and yet as I was leaving the set tonight, I found myself fighting back the dramatic single tear.

The set of Renfield was a well-oiled machine. Everyone was extremely talented and professional. The crew was not only on top of their shit, but also very kind and funny. The producers, writer and director were cool as hell and made me feel comfortable and important. I was in total awe of the phenomenal art department, wardrobe and makeup team who created beautiful sets, costumes and effects.

It was an honor and a privilege to work on Renfield: The Undead.

Not to mention, I got to get hot and heavy with the delicious Tyler Tackett! FTW!

After filming Spirit Camp, I took a little break from acting. I had dedicated over 2 years to the making of that film. Not just starring in it, but helping out with everything from crew work, to casting, to wardrobe and beyond. Spirit Camp is my diamond. A film-making experience that I will always cherish and the standard by which all of my other film-making experiences will be measured. That said, I needed a break.

I spent a year focused on my Modeling. Modeling ended up taking me to places I never thought I'd go, and helped me meet so many fabulous artists. I kind of forgot about acting for a while. Well, tomorrow I return to my roots. I have to get up super early to be on the set of Renfield: The Undead. I'm totally revved about this film because I finally get to play a vampire onscreen! I've waited years for this! It will also mark the third film that myself and my dear friends Julin Jean and Denise Williamson have been in together!

Lastly, I want you all to know that I fully expect to see your faces up at Rocbar Houston very soon! It's more than a club, it's a spectacle. Beautiful women everywhere you turn, serving up drinks, swinging from the ceiling and yours truly dancing on the bartop in my skivvies! If you're lucky you can catch me breathing fire now and then!

Acts of Piracy!

While I vehemently disapprove of pirating music and films, I am totally cool with dressing like a Pirate and yelling "YARRRR!" at the top of your lungs.

It appears that winter has decided to give us one last death rattle. I'm so sick of cold weather I could puke. Give me sunshine and SPF! Give me tank tops and air conditioning! Give me 100 degrees, baby! I'm ready!

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. I'm an Irish girl (if you couldn't tell), but I can honestly say that once I did the research on St. Patrick's Day - I couldn't celebrate it anymore. I learned the truth. St. Patrick was an asshole. A messenger from the Catholic Church sent to Ireland to preach Christianity to the Pagans. And we all know that when Pagans don't want to convert, the Catholic Church says, "Oh really? I hope you like being slaughtered!" So wear your silly green outfits and drink your green beer. I'll be watching TV.

Now, the hypocrisy is not lost on me as I post these photos of myself dressed as a pirate for ROCBAR's Monthly Mayhem party. Pirates were pretty rotten. Dirty thieves, the lot of them. Not so charming and handsome as Johnny Depp.

Though, it's not piracy I celebrate, but rather, Pirate Fashion because let's face it....Pirates looked really cool.

Hello my sweets!

Between photoshoots, interviews and awesome parties at Rocbar Houston, I've been a very busy girl!

Some very cool things are happening in RoxyLand. I was recently featured on Fleshbot where I talk about disrobing on camera, and being "Texas's Lone Star Pin-up."

I also did a co-interview with Spirit Camp director Kerry Beyer for Gram Ponante's Porn Valley Observed Blog. Breakin' The Rules.

I did it. I broke my own rule. I got my arm tattooed. Yes, I already had tattoos on my inner forearms, but this time I went for broke and got tattooed on my upper arm. She's a beautiful gothic ballerina. I have my worries and reservations about what "society" will think, but then I try to remind myself that I'm a girl whose naked photos can be found on Google. I'm a girl who appears naked in movies you can rent from Netflix. I gave society the finger a long time ago.

I wonder, if I went back in time and met myself as a little girl and showed her who and what she would grow up to be....what would she say?

I write to you tonight, completely exhausted and a bit overwhelmed by all of the big events I have coming up in the next couple months. It is an exciting time though. I'll be meeting with my Spirit Camp co-horts to sign tons of DVDs and cute panties which are available for sale on SpiritCampMovie.com.

I'll be the featured Model at the Glamour Photography Club of Texas this Sunday. If you're a photographer and want to shoot me at a very discounted price, you can sign up here.

Hello My Loves!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day! I know I did! I don't really get into all the hoopla of buying cards and candies and going out to fancy dinners. I much prefer a night in on the couch with a good movie and a warm body! Okay, I admit, the night did end with some fishnets and garter-belts. *wink*

In SPIRIT CAMP news, tonight's the night! The Spirit Camp Encore Premiere is at 7 pm tonight (Wednesday the 17th) at Studio Movie Grill in the Town & Country Center.

There's one bartender who likes to wear short skirts and hop on the bar anytime Rob Zombie comes on. She stalks across the long bartop and occasionally, gets hosed down with cool water.

The Spirit Camp World Premiere!

For 2 years I devoted my heart and soul to the making of the film Spirit Camp. It turned out to be the most amazing, rewarding experience of my life. Leaving me with strong friendships, happy memories and the confidence that I actually could pursue big dreams.

Monday night, Spirit Camp was released to the world. At the Studio Movie Grill I sat, surrounded by friends, family and Texas film industry insiders as the film flickered on the big screen. The response to the film was overwhelmingly great. It was wonderful to meet fans and sign autographs, knowing that the film we had made was worth all of the blood, sweat and tears that we all put into it.

Hiatus.

Hello my Darlings!

Want to know what I did today? You know you do.
First I woke up much earlier than I wanted to so that my masseuse could kick my ass trying to get the massive knots and what she calls "gravel" out of my back.

Then I got all dolled up and went out for a holiday dinner party with my nearest and dearest. At this dinner, I drank too much and made a complete asshat of myself. Note to self: Don't say the words "vomit" or "cunt" at the dinner table and then get into a drunken altercation with a waitress who looks like Sarah Silverman.

My friends and I then met up at one of our homes and watched the season finale of Dexter (one of my all-time favorite TV shows.) The end of the episode was heart-wrenching and I cried my eyes out.
Then I came home and immediately fell into bed for a 4 hour nap. Woke up at 2 am. Showered and here I am. Clean, sore, embarrassed and foggy.

In one week, Spirit Camp hits the theater. One night only. Sold out. I've been waiting for this for literally years. The greatest achievement of my life thus far will finally be shared with the world. I couldn't be happier. What will I wear?!?! Something sexy!

Because I've been on hiatus from modeling this month, I had to dig to see if I had any unpublished photo to share with you. Because let's face it, you don't come here just to read about my drunken shenanigans. You come for the nudey pics. So here ya go!

My clone would be awesome. She would be everywhere I can't be. She would do the hard stuff, the boring stuff, the stuff that pays the rent. She would go to work for me when I am sick. She would never complain.
She would be constantly available to get shit done when I have places I'd rather be. She'd prevent me from disappointing people that mean the world to me.
She'd lay next to me and stroke my hair when I cry because I'm so scared of what the future will bring. She'd rub the constant pain in my neck and back. She would be my best friend. My cohort. She'd never tell my secrets and we'd agree on everything.

My life got hit by a tornado in the past 6 weeks. I was badly injured in a car accident and then things at my job started to fall apart. I've taken a hiatus from modeling for an undetermined amount of time.

I have no idea what is going to happen next. I just hope that all the people in my life understand that I can't be who they need me to be right now. Because I don't have a clone. And I've got to handle shit all on my own.

We Fear Change.

I like consistency. I like when things are planned and ready to go. I hate uncertainty and the unknown.

Right now I'm going through some major life changes and experiencing a lot of anxiety over the whole thing. There are some great possibilities on the horizon, but to reach them I will have to leave behind a place in which I have been very comfortable for a very long time. To put it bluntly - I'm terrified.

It's snowing outside right now. This is an unusual occurance here in Houston, Texas. Most people are enamored with it. Taking pictures and ooh-ing and awe-ing. I personally find no joy or beauty in it. To me it just looks cold and makes me want to crawl back into bed and not come out until Springtime when the sun is warm again.

But alas, I must find all the inner strength I have and go out into the world to take care of business and do things properly.

I am a shell of a person right now. Exhausted in every way a person can be. I've been working like crazy and apparently it's showing on me in ways I didn't even know.

I went to my usual massage place today and the therapist actually asked me if I was 'under the influence of something'. She said another massage therapist thought the same thing last time I came in. WTF?!? I was a little bit offended as I explained to her that I keep odd hours and simply roll out of bed when I come for a massage. I didn't know that paying money for an hour of relaxation required me to dress up and be really chipper. Sorry about that. Geezus.

In other news, I am a bit saddened by the fact that this season of the Texas Renaissance Festival has come to a close. I was able to make it up there 4 times this season and I had such fun. I can't wait until the Scarborough Faire outside of Dallas this spring!

Mr. Tibs

So, for the past several months I've been hearing this scratching and rustling sound coming from my attic. Oh great. There's a creature living up there. I've been too afraid to go up there and investigate so I decided to live in peace and harmony with the creature, whom I have affectionately been referring to as "Mr. Tibs".

Well, today Mr. Tibs went too far. He was being especially scratchy and making a bunch of racket, so I decided to arm myself with not one, but 2 flashlights and a long metal stick.

I climbed up into the attic and slithered my way into the furthest, darkest corner where I found two eyes staring back at me.

Mr. Tibs is an adorable little squirrel. He stood there frozen (like a squirrel in flashlights) before he ducked out of sight.

I don't know what to do. I think I've found his point of entry, but I don't want to wall him up inside and have him die a slow, miserable (and probably smelly) death.

I don't want to poison him. But I also don't want the little fucker chewing up my wires and insulation.

Sigh. What to do. For right now, I'm doing nothing. And Mr. Tibs will live to see another sunset.

You've heard me talk about it. Finally, I got to do it! There's this wicked cool jungle gym by my house that looks like Thunderdome from Mad Max! I wanted to shoot there all summer, but it was too hot. Then it rained for a month straight.

Well, my darlings, I finally got to do my Thunderdome shoot! I rocked it out in updated Tina Turner style with leather and lace and an excellent mohawk. And here you have, Thunderdome 2009!

I had the BEST weekend! Went to the CryptiCon Horror Convention in Houston to promote my film SPIRIT CAMP! We showed some clips from the films and spread the word that the film will be coming out very soon. At the convention I got to hang out with some seriously cool film makers and actors. A huge highlight for me was hanging out with Courtney Gains! You know, Malachai from Children of the Corn and Hans Klopek from The 'Burbs!

I'm getting really tired of having so much hair. I know, it's only chin-length but I miss my rad pixie cuts and fauxhawks. It's only a matter of time really....

Until I chop it off enjoy some photos while it's still long(ish).

These were taken at Vinal Edge Record Store on Veterans Memorial in Houston. Go there. They have so many rad vinyls. I was tempted to buy some after the shoot was over.

So, what does a glamorous fetish model do on her birthday? Go bowling of course!

This weekend a pack of my nearest and dearest got together and hit the lanes in a 5 hour long bowl-o-rama that got very competitive. We had a blast talkin' trash and taunting one another relentlessly. At first I was kicking ass and taking names on my Hello Kitty notepad, but then the boys came up with a plan to stop the vicious beating they were getting by a little girl like myself and they started buying me shots. I was drunk as hell by then end and throwing some seriously bad gutterballs!

My muscles are still sore, but it was the most fun I have ever had on my birthday!

Tonight I did Ron Davis's Photographer & Model podcast interview and hopefully I didn't come off as too lame. We'll see when it hit the iTunes airwaves in a couple weeks. In the meantime, enjy a few photographic highlights from my birthday party!

This week's photo is a little different. It's a simple snapshot that I took with a self time to showcase 2 things.

1. My amazing new hairstyle by David Lowry at Salon Matos in Spring, TX.
2. My New wrist tattoos done by Mike Graves at Shamrock Studios.

The tattoos are swallows and they each have a name inside them. One says "Mom", the other "Dad".

I got these tattoos to honor the two people in my life who have always been so loving and supportive of me in all my endeavors. I mean, let's face it - no parent dreams that one day their daughter will be a fetish model, but despite my alternative lifestyle and career choice my parents have made it very clear how proud they are of me. It warms my heart.

Many people have horror stories about their fucked up childhoods. Not me. I grew up in a happy home in the country where Dad was home at 6 o'clock every evening and Mom had dinner on the table by 7. We lived in the same house my entire life and my memories of my childhood are full of laughter, love and good times.

Sadly, just over 3 years ago, my parents got divorced. This hurt me to the core and turned my world upside down. It still hurts everyday. I suppose these tattoos are my way of keeping them together forever.

Okay, I realize I'm a few hours late posting this week's photo, but that's only because I was out getting tattooed today! I got two beautiful swallows on my wrists to represent my Mom and Dad whom I love more than anyone in the world! I wanted to pay tribute to them because they gave me such a wonderful happy childhood and continue to be supportive and loving. They always tell me how proud they are of me!

But you want to know more about the photo, don't you? This was taken in the wilderness of Cypress, Texas by Shooter 88 of Fotowork Fotography. He also did the incredible post work and this photo is sooo artistic! I just love it.....don't you?

My birthday is less than 2 weeks away. I'm a Virgo, which basically means I know eveything about everything and before we're done I'll have you believing the same thing.

I am not the least bit excited about getting older. But I am excited about the party I'm having! It will be a fabulous high class event of....bowling. I love to bowl and even have my own ball. I've talked all of my friends into bowling with me and I'm super psyched!

But before my birthday comes I have a jam packed schedule full of photoshoots, the TrueBlood season finale party I am hosting, dentist appointments and bachelorette parties. It's going to be a wild September.

To top it all off, I just found out that I'll be going to CryptiCon. A Horror convention at which I will be helping promote Spirit Camp! You know, the horror movie I star in that is hopefully coming out very soon! http://www.spiritcampmovie.com/

This week's photo is from a shoot last week with Fotoworks Fotography. The water came from a well and was so cold I could barely stop my teeth chattering long enough to get the shot! But we did and it has turned out to be one of my fave shots ever! I rarely get the opportunity to shoot outdoors and even more rare is the opportunity to shoot soaking wet, a look I absolutely love! I hope you love it too!

Wet Hot American Summer

Well kids...summer is almost over. This is the busiest time of year for little ol' me.

Not only is my birthday in exactly 2 weeks (yikes!) but one of my best friends is getting married and then there's the Renaissance Festival (which I attend several times in full costume). There's also Halloween (My favorite holiday of the year!) and I've just learned that I might be heading to California in November for the AFM Festival.

It's sure to be a wild ride.

Been chatting with Philip Warner of Lithium Picnic Studios lately and hopefully soon we are going to set up a photoshoot! I learned about his work from my buddy Troy Goodrich of the band Leatherbal and have been a huge fan ever since. Shooting with Philip would be a full circle moment of awesomeness for me.

Next weekend I am hosting a small dinner party for the season finale of TrueBlood, the sexy and bloody HBO series based on Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels. Then my Mommy is coming to visit me! My Mom lives out of state and I always get super excited when she comes because she is truly my best friend in the world.

Yesterday I did my first on-camera interview with Ahead Shot, which is a show about local film-makers and actors. I was super nervous and pretty much think I fucked the whole thing up. I like to think I'm usually a pretty eloquent person, but yesterday I felt completely tongue-tied and ridiculous. Oh well. At least I met some very cool people!

Well, my photoshoots are slowing down a bit this month because I have so many parties to attend, but here's a little treat from my shoot last Wednesday with Shooter88 of Fotowork Fotography. Enjoy!

This weeks photo come from a set I did in New York City with photographer Brian Burk. Let me tell you, showing up at a subway station in Brooklyn in the middle of the afternoon wearing a ballgown can attract some attention. It was the first time I had to model with a crowd of on-lookers.
It was pretty cool. Some people snapped photos of me, others were trying to figure out who the hell I was.

I love this shot. The gown is a vintage creation by Fred Perlberg and the photographer supplied the gorgeous pearl jewelry.
